When you know someone you care about is depressed. Do you turn your back on them for being self indulgent and pathetic?
Do you feel angry towards them for not speaking up sooner and loosing control?
Do you begrudge them for being weak?
Do you try to help them through gritted teeth (confused,angry,shocked,fearful) or do you turn your back on them (anger,blame,disappointment)?
Depression makes you feel isolated, missunderstood, pointless, inadequate and super lonely. A text, phonecall and or visit from a lovef one can work wonders.
Don’t be the one to say I wish I helped, got in touch, was there for her. Just be the one who does. Genuine kindness can save lives.
